For some, it is a question which causes headaches and endless problems, for others a task of multiple variables with complex numbers and impossible solutions. The answer for ZFM which is having tremendous success witnessed by its clients and recognised by its competitors, is simple and will be detailed in the following lines.
Z For Mining was created in 2016 by engineer Zeidan Zeidan, following his first company EGA (2004), a construction company and his second company ADO Equipment (2008), is specialized in the sale of construction equipment, generators, concrete mixer machines and others.
The first contract of EGA with SOMSIY at Syama Gold mine in Mali at the end of 2012 was for the civil works of the extension of the plant including its new crusher, its mill, CIL, and thickener. A project was carried out to the complete satisfaction of our client.
ZFM took its first steps in 2016, to replace its big sister EGA in mining sector work. ZFM’s first projects were with SOMISY (Project 85), which involved the construction of the following new facilities:
- Flotation Tails Thickening and Leach Circuit
- Calcine Regrind and Thickening Circuit
- Calcine Leach Circuit
To ensure the connection between its new satellite pit in Tabakoroni and its factory in Syama, SOMISY entrusted ZFM with the construction of the 40 km lateritic road in 2017, including the construction of one bridge and several reinforced concrete box culverts. Till today, that road is still in service for the transport of ores from Tabakoroni to Syama.
In May 2018 SOMIFI, part of the Resolute Group, awarded the transport of ore from Tabakorni to Syama to ZFM. The total ore transported by the end of 2020 was 3,144,000 T.
At Syama Gold mine, ZFM is the civil contractor of all the mining infrastructure, including earthworks and civil works for the:
- New 33 MW HFO power plant - HFO treatment station - New CIL - Renovation of the old camp - Expansion of the camp with 120 new units - Wash bay area for underground machines - Renovation of the kitchen and the mess.
- Renovation of the various o!ces of the mine - Shotcrete and concrete for UG project - Civil works for the underground: pumping stations and ventilation system - execution of water boreholes equipped with electric pumps and water towers - Feeding the crusher at the ROM PAD.
After 10 years of continuous work on different projects for the Resolute Group, our relationship has become more than a partnership. We take this opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Resolute Group, all its leaders and employees for the amazing and fruitful collaboration and understanding.
ZFM also carried out the delivery of shotcrete for RUGS (BYRNECUT) from June 2016 to June 2021, producing 48,025 m3 of shotcrete, for the reinforcement of the vaults of the underground mine at Syama.
ZFM executed various civil, and construction works for other clients like:
- MEES FZC - Multi Equipment & Engineering Services
- CAPITAL Drilling Mali SARL
- Aggreko
Currently, ZFM is engaged in construction projects at the Morila mine in Mali on behalf of CAPITAL Drilling Mali SARL. :
- Wash bay unit for the CAT 777
- Connection road between the workshop and the haulage road
- The supply and installation of 12 units of accommodation
ZFM’s success is not a simple coincidence, it is rather the result of a serious work which is based on the following elements: Safety at work, highly qualified personnel, continuous training of the personnel, high quality of the work carried out, sta!ng and availability of equipment, machines, necessary tools for the smooth running, respect of the schedule and continuous improvement so we can always keep our customer satisfied.
In terms of safety at work, the statistics for the last 5 years clearly show that ZFM is a company that takes care of the safety of its clients, suppliers, visitors and all its employees.

Regarding the quality of work, ZFM relies on the great experience of its team (92% of its workforce is Malian) whether we are talking about its engineers, technicians, skilled workers as well as its administrative and logistics staff, who are in charge for the smooth running of the execution of the works to a level that meets the requirements of the mining standards. The high level of work quality that we offer could not happen without the constant quality control that we impose.
The continuous training of the staff always leads to ensuring a favourable atmosphere to achieve satisfactory results for our clients and ourselves.
ZFM understands the importance of providing its staff with adequate means to carry out the tasks entrusted to them. ZFM strengthens its equipment fleet at every opportunity with new machines, trucks, and vehicles to ensure the best means for its personnel, which allows it to reduce risk factors and promote work safety as well as better results in shorter time frames.
ZFM respects the deadlines in all its projects, and this is achieved and ensured by the constant follow-up of its detail planner team to ensure the availability of all the requested items on time.
Alongside the execution of projects, ZFM takes care of the social side and the well-being of those around by :
- Sponsoring sports activities such as judo with the Malian Judo Federation and whose 2nd ZFM and ADO Equipment Cup took place on the 6th of June 2022.
- Participating financially in the traditional festival of the neighbouring villages of the community of Syama Gold mine (such as Fourou and Finkolo).
- Equipping the boreholes of the village of Syama with human-powered pumps and with flex pumps.
And many other sponsorship activities including football, basketball, and karate teams in our neighbourhood at the Hippodrome.
